Job Description

As a Snowflake DB Architect, you will be responsible for designing efficient data models in Snowflake, creating and optimizing data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources, writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to manipulate and analyze data. You will also develop and maintain ETL processes using Snowflake's built-in tools or external tools like dbt, implement data governance policies and procedures, ensure data security and privacy compliance, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, tune SQL queries, and optimize data structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement efficient data models in Snowflake.
  • Create and optimize data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to manipulate and analyze data.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes using Snowflake's built-in tools or external tools like dbt.
  • Implement data governance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure data security and privacy compliance.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Tune SQL queries and optimize data structures.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have strong SQL skills, including knowledge of SQL functions, procedures, and performance tuning techniques. Experience with Snowflake data warehousing platform, proficiency in data modeling and data warehousing concepts, understanding of ETL processes and data integration techniques, experience with data quality and data governance practices are also required. Additionally, you should have strong problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
