Design Team Leader

The key responsibilities of the Design Team Leader include overseeing the workflow of the design team, ensuring that all designs are delivered in line with style guides and quality standards. The incumbent must maintain and track the departmental fashion calendar for the season, research and forecast evolving fashion trends, and monitor market changes.

  • Maintain and build design team workflows that ensure timely delivery of designs in line with style guides and quality standards.
  • Maintain and track the departmental fashion calendar for the season.
  • Research and forecast evolving fashion trends and bring those insights into the design process.
  • Monitor market changes and developments.
  • Perform daily organizational tasks such as styling the range, embroidery development, and sample creation.
  • Organize styling materials and resources for sampling.
  • Conceptualize, create, and deliver strong design solutions and present ideas through presentations.
  • Collaborate with the Design Merchant team.

People Management Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Sampling, Pattern & Khaka's masters and Embroiders.
  • Coach and provide technical guidance to other designers on the team.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Design from a reputable institution (NIFT, NID, Pearl Academy, etc).
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Excel, and Corel Draw.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the field.
  • Understanding of Indian ethnic wear design sensibilities - fabric and styling.
  • Proven track record of designing an eye-catching Apparel portfolio with a design team.
