
Lead Human Resources Professional

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Human Resources Manager to join our organization. As a key member of our HR team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with all relevant industrial and labor laws.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all statutory provisions relating to industrial and labor laws.
- Maintain regular industrial relations activities, including dealing with contractors, monitoring contractual statutory records, workmen's compensation policies, labor licenses, etc.
- Provide expert advice on wage settlements, union issues, and labor contractors; conduct inquiries, counsel employees, and initiate disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Manage temporary labor-related cases, follow up on pending court matters to resolve them.
- Coordinate with the corporate HR team to implement HR processes and initiatives, providing support on welfare, safety, security, and general administration matters as needed.
- Develop various employee welfare measures and handle grievances of permanent and contractual employees.
- Consult with government authorities, document and maintain legal documents safely.
- Stay updated on labor law developments and practices, advising management on all legal aspects of industrial relations.
- Ensure smooth industrial relations.
- Employee Relations:
- Coordinate recruitment, selection, and employment processes for the plant.
- Plan and monitor administrative operations.
- Assess the current skill capabilities of the plant workforce, prepare training calendars for up-skilling or multi-skilling, and implement training programs.
- Manage internal facilities like canteens, transport, hospitalization, etc.
- Drive welfare activities such as celebrations, safety, annual day, facilities for women, environment, sports, service/attendance awards, etc.
- Plan and implement Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities like setting up or supporting pharmacies, health centers, schools, blood donation camps, etc.
- Prepare the yearly labor budget and monitor budget vs. expenditure statements periodically.
- Participate in union and IR issues as needed, develop recommendations and/or support other staff.
- Negotiate with the union on annual pay and benefits reviews, structural changes, and agreements.
- Ensure implementation of the Code of Conduct policy, provide counseling to employees periodically/as required, and take disciplinary action against non-conforming staff.
- Oversee the contract labor management system and ensure its compliance.
- Ensure the attendance system operates correctly, and salary and wages of blue-collar workforces are paid on time.
- Maintain discipline in the plant, implement blue-collar engagement activities.
- HR Initiatives:
- Be actively involved in the Suggestion program, Kaizen, Quality circle, Gemba walks, waste elimination, 5S Activities, integrated management system, and shopfloor improvement projects focused on people and process excellence.
- Promote Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, implement reward and recognition programs to boost motivation and productivity.
- Develop workforce policies/strategies aligned with local demographics to achieve organizational goals and objectives, ensure availability of workforce as per requirements.
- Understand management strategies, interact with HODs and staff members.
- Resolve employee grievances on the shop floor concerning HR & IR.
- Operate best HR practice initiatives and stay connected with departments.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 12 to 18 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing industry.
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) with specialization in Human Resources.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to handle complex situations and maintain a pleasing personality.
- Familiarity with labor laws and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in handling unions is mandatory.
- Exposure to HR Practices is required.
- Team Handling Experience is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidates from Gujarat and nearby locations are preferred.
- Must have exposure to handling a workforce above 450+.
- Part of the Long-Term Settlement is an added advantage.
