Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Engineer – Architect SAP to support and maintain SAP databases and systems in our SAP landscape, ensuring its availability, performance, and security. You will work closely with the senior members of the team to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and contribute to the overall success of our SAP environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement database architectures to support business needs.
  2. Develop and maintain database security processes to protect sensitive data.
  3. Set and enforce database standards to ensure consistency and quality.
  4. Manage database access and permissions to ensure efficient data access.
  5. Perform database performance tuning to optimize system performance.
  6. Install, upgrade, and manage database applications to ensure compatibility and efficiency.
  7. Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors to minimize downtime.
  8. Recommend and implement emerging database technologies to stay ahead of the curve.
  9. Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards to support business needs.
  10. Develop automation for repeating database tasks to improve efficiency.
  11. Develop, implement, and manage system backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity.
  12. Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance with company standards.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled professional with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent professional experience. At least 5+ years of experience in database administration is required. Proficiency in all aspects of database administration and good understanding of SAP applications, operating systems, hardware, integration, and networking in various SAP technologies and cloud platforms is necessary. Strong proficiency in SAP HANA administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in SAP ASE, PostgreSQL, MaxDB and Oracle database administration is highly desirable. Experience in database backup, restore, and recovery is also highly desirable. Experience in operating systems, such as Linux and Windows server, is highly desirable. Experience in full life cycle implementation of multiple database installations, upgrades, and patches is highly desirable. Experience in database monitoring and troubleshooting tools is highly desirable.
