Network Engineer Role

  • We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to oversee all network activities at data centers and disaster recovery sites.
  • This includes installations, upgrades, migrations, incident management, performance tuning, reporting, and patching.
  • Proficiency in switching, routing, and network equipment is essential.
  • Familiarity with leaf and spine architecture in data centers is required.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools, including Cisco IOS, PRTG, NetFlow, etc., is crucial.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with large-scale data center networks.
  • They should be proficient in configuration change management for switches and routers, as well as periodic configuration backups.
  • Configuring and troubleshooting Layer 2 protocols, such as VLANs, private VLANs, VTP, STP, DTP, trunking, stacking, Ethernet channels, DOT1Q, ISL, SVI, etc., is necessary.
  • Additionally, configuring IPSEC tunnels between locations is a must.
  • The Network Engineer will also be responsible for configuring and troubleshooting Layer 3 protocols, including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, static routing, high availability protocols (HSRP, VRRP, GLBP), floating static routing, failover, etc.
  • Providing support for IPv4, IPv6, NTP, ACLs, route-maps, prefix-lists, PBR, AAA, TACAS, RADIUS, CEF, IPv6 CEF, SLA, track, SNMP, EEM, syslog, flow-export, radio, EVPN-VXLAN, etc., is also necessary.
  • Other responsibilities include configuring and troubleshooting network load balancers, data center core switching, and routing upgrades and maintenance.
  • Router access control management is a must.
  • Fault management of routers and switches is required.
  • Corrective actions to resolve faults and ensure high network uptime are necessary.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging of problems is required.
  • Deploying monitoring tools to identify problem areas and implement early rectifications, if necessary, is required.
  • Periodic fine-tuning to ensure optimal network availability is necessary.
  • Regular checking for proper functioning of the network and assets deployed is required.
  • Proficiency with EMS tools is necessary.
  • Incident, change, and configuration management, IOS upgrades, change request management, etc., are necessary.
  • The Network Engineer will also investigate network issues at disaster recovery sites in liaison with their DR team members.
