We are seeking an accomplished Commerce Architect to lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge, API-first commerce ecosystems.

This role demands a visionary leader with strong technical expertise, capable of guiding solution design, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring that digital commerce platforms are built with flexibility, performance, and future-readiness in mind.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the CommerceTools and MACH ecosystem authority, guiding developers and architects across teams
  • Lead design of API contracts, data modeling, event-driven patterns, and cross-system integrations
  • Oversight of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and cloud-native deployment strategies
  • Ensure architecture designs maximize flexibility, scalability, and performance
  • Mentor and coach engineering teams on MACH principles, API-first design, and composable commerce practices
Requirements
  • 20 years of experience in IT solution architecture, with at least 5 years in headless and composable commerce solutions
  • Proven expertise in CommerceTools, Netlify, and Frontastic
  • Strong expertise in API-first solution design, REST, GraphQL
  • Hands-on experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native deployments
  • Experience in frontend frameworks, React, Next.js, or similar
  • Proven ability to integrate commerce platforms with ERP, OMS, PIM, CRM, and Payment Gateways
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments, AWS, Azure, GCP
Leadership Skills
  • Demonstrated team leadership and people management experience
  • Strong ability to mentor teams and establish architectural best practices
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and consulting skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with focus on flexibility and adaptability in solution design
Preferred Qualifications
  • CommerceTools Certification (if available)
  • MACH Alliance recognized training
