Job Title: Senior Staff Engineer - Gen AI

At Commonwealth Bank, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible with Generative AI. As a Senior Staff Engineer in our Gen AI Domain, you'll play a key role in building the tools and capabilities needed to transform our customer experiences.

Job Summary:

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Engineer to join our Gen AI Domain. You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining robust, scalable systems to support the deployment and operations of generative AI models. Your expertise will help us achieve business outcomes and drive innovation in the field of AI.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain complex systems to support Gen AI model deployment and operations
  • Build Gen AI capability among engineers, including Knowledge Engineering, Prompt Engineering, and Platform Engineering
  • Evaluate the performance of Gen AI models and refine them to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and fairness
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversee medium complexity system engineering initiatives and solutions
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the Gen AI Hub, including infrastructure, tools, and APIs
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure seamless integration with existing workflows and meet user needs
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in tech delivery, with expertise in engineering principles and practices
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to solicit opinions and accept feedback
  • Experience in operating effectively as part of cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in key capabilities, including IT SDLC processes, written documentation/specification skills, and experience in Prompt Engineering, Platform Engineering, and Knowledge Engineering disciplines
  • Proven track record of building and leading a team of engineering professionals
