Description:The Materials Lead will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of piping material selection, specifications, procurement, and compliance for oil and gas projects. This role requires in-depth knowledge of piping materials, industry standards, and project execution in onshore and offshore environments.

The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective material selection while adhering to project requirements and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, review, and approve piping material specifications, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations
  2. Select appropriate piping materials considering factors such as pressure, temperature, corrosion resistance, and project-specific requirements
  3. Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASME, ASTM, API, ISO, NACE, etc.), client requirements, and regulatory guidelines
  4. Lead material selection studies and provide recommendations for cost-effective and technically viable solutions
  5. Interface with procurement teams to provide technical support for material purchasing and vendor qualification
  6. Coodinate with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications
  7. Conduct technical evaluations and provide solutions for material-related issues, including corrosion concerns and welding requirements
  8. Review and approve Material Take-Offs (MTO), Bill of Materials (BOM), and other material-related documentation
  9. Oversee material testing and ensure proper documentation and certification (Mill Test Reports, PMI, etc.)
  10. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and team members
