Job Overview:

The Deputy General Manager ESG role drives the execution of a company's sustainability strategy, collaborating with stakeholders to set and deliver impactful targets, policies, and initiatives that advance ambitious environmental, social, and governance implementation.

  • Support the implementation of a comprehensive sustainability strategy across the organisation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Gather, verify, and organise data required for sustainability reporting, ESG disclosures, and external ratings, while responding to information requests from key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and circulate monthly updates on sustainability initiatives, highlighting progress, key achievements, and areas for improvement.
  • Stay up to date with evolving legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to sustainability and ESG compliance, advising on necessary actions.
  • Ensure organisational adherence to applicable ESG standards and frameworks through timely monitoring and proactive risk management.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of sustainability projects in partnership with internal teams and external partners, ensuring impactful delivery with strong stakeholder engagement.
  • Drive ESG-related training and awareness initiatives across the organisation, fostering a culture of sustainability and continuous learning.
  • Support in the development of Green House Gas (GHG) Emissions data management framework and its implementation.
  • Promote judicious use of natural resources.
  • Adhere to the organisation's environment, health, and safety policies, objectives, and procedures.
  • Follow the ABMS roles and responsibilities details as prescribed on the ABMS manual.
  • Understanding of ethical standards and the importance of integrity in business practices.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate risks related to bribery in various business contexts.

Requirements:

  • Graduate or postgraduate degree, with a preferred focus or certification in Sustainability, Environmental Data Management, ESG, or a related field.
  • 10-12 years of experience in a sustainability-related role within a corporate organisation or consultancy, with proven exposure to ESG strategies, reporting, or project implementation.
