Data Engineer - Key Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer on our Analytics Engineering team, you will collaborate with teams across the globe to build pipelines and systems that deliver data insights critical to our customers and internal teams. Your work will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for the full product development life cycle, from conception to deployment.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Closely collaborating with engineering teams and product management in an agile fast-paced environment.
  2. Designing and building large-scale real-time stream & batch data processing systems.
  3. Designing, developing, and running services and analytics SaaS solutions.
  4. Writing unit and end-to-end tests for any code developed.
  5. Owning scalability, high availability, and data security for your services.
  6. Mentoring other developers in best practices.
Requirements

Requirements for this role include:

  1. 5+ years of working experience.
  2. A proven record of building ETL and Analytics applications.
  3. Excellent programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages.
  4. Experience with SQL and NoSQL DBs, as well as REST APIs.
  5. Experience in modelling Data warehouses in BigQuery/RedShift.
  6. Experience working with DBT or Dataform for building pipelines.
  7. Experience building and embedding dashboards.
  8. Understanding of distributed systems and streaming concepts and principles.
  9. Capacity to pivot to new languages and frameworks.
  10. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  11. Eagerness to learn new things and cutting-edge technology.
