Job Summary:

Culinary Operations Managers oversee the daily operations of a kitchen, ensuring efficient and effective food preparation and service. They direct and assist stewards to streamline clean-up processes, monitor water temperature and chemical levels for cleaning, and maintain equipment and tools.

Responsibilities:

  1. Direct and assist stewards in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
  2. Monitor and document water temperature and chemical levels for cleaning to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  3. Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed, such as preparing ingredients and cooking meals.
  4. Provide cooks with necessary items, including utensils and equipment, to support their work.
  5. Support banquet and buffet services by transporting and stocking supplies, returning cleaned items to their designated locations, and operating and maintaining cleaning equipment and tools.
  6. Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees to achieve optimal performance and productivity.
  7. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management and completing safety training and certifications.
  8. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets.
  9. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs, and communicating clearly and professionally with others.
  10. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, supporting team efforts to reach common goals and ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  11. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or GED equivalent required; related work experience preferred.
  2. At least 2 years of related work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience required.
  3. Licenses or certifications not required.
