Job Role:

Data Engineer - Big Data Solutions

We are seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-performance data pipelines that support business growth.

The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data models, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions using big data tools like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, Postgres, and Cassandra.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain optimal Data Lake architecture.
  • Assemble large and complex datasets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements: automating manual tasks, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for scalability, etc.
  • Build the infrastructure required for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources using SQL.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on internal/external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field with 5+ years' experience in Data Analytics/Data Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Data Analytics services like EMR, Glue, Athena, Kinesis, MSK, Elasticsearch, Quicksight, and Redshift.
  • Experience with Data Lake setup and Data Warehouse on AWS/GCP.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming.
  • Object-oriented/scripting languages: Python, Scala.
  • Machine learning concepts and algorithms.
  • Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
