Job Description:


We are seeking an experienced Lead Java Developer to join our team at Epam.


This role involves leading the development and execution of Java-based applications using SQL, Spring, and Hibernate frameworks.


The chosen candidate will work closely with various teams to create, develop, and sustain effective, reusable, and dependable code that aligns with client needs and project goals.


Responsibilities:



  • Design and develop Java-based applications using SQL, Spring, and Hibernate
  • Collaborate with teams to conceptualize, design, and implement new features
  • Write clean, scalable, and efficient code
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve code issues to enhance performance and scalability
  • Mentor junior developers on coding standards and design patterns
  • Oversee code reviews and maintain coding standards and guidelines
  • Participate in requirement gathering and analysis
  • Administer and implement unit tests to ensure code robustness and reliability
  • Facilitate the integration of software components and third-party applications
  • Maintain code quality, organization, and automation
  • Enhance applications for optimal speed and scalability
  • Promote continuous enhancement by exploring alternatives and new technologies
  • Document development processes and oversee system operations
  • Ensure adherence to security and data protection regulations
  • Oversee project schedules and deliverables

Requirements:



  • Proven experience as a Lead Java Developer with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role
  • Proficient in Java programming and object-oriented design principles
  • Well-versed in Java frameworks, including DropWizard, Spring, and Hibernate
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL and familiarity with distributed storage systems, such as DB2, Oracle
  • Experience with web development frameworks, like Angular or React
  • Skilled in code versioning tools, particularly Git
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Effective communication and team collaboration abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience with Agile development practices
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

Nice to have:



  • Proficiency with MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, and other RDBMS tools
  • Understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Experience in Unix/Linux environments
