Business Development Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for preparing tenders for Oil and Gas, Energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Tender Preparation: Responsible for the preparation of tenders for Oil and Gas, Energy sectors.
  2. End-to-End Bid Management: Proficient in end-to-end bid management/tendering for government clients/PSUs, including technical write-ups, cost estimation, subcontracting, JVs, consortium, client liaisoning, and project management.
  3. Tender Identification: Identifies relevant tenders from PSUs, government agencies, and private companies through various resources.
  4. Bidding Process: Well-versed with the bidding process at government/GEM portals.
  5. Pre-Qualification Documents: Prepares pre-qualification documents, EOI, BIDS, attends pre-bid meetings, etc.
  6. Client Liaison: Maintains excellent professional relations with clients and coordinates with central functions for bid compliance (accounts, legal, FICO, etc.).
  7. Execution Team Coordination: Coordinates with the execution team and maintains relationships with all external parties for bidding jobs.
  8. Day-to-Day Correspondence: Liaisons and handles day-to-day correspondence along with legal contractual correspondences with customers.
  9. MIS Reports: Generates relevant MIS reports/tender tracking updates.
  10. Order Booking Target: Achieves order booking targets from tenders.
  11. Documentation and Updating: Maintains documentation and correspondence of BD activities and updates credentials on a regular basis.
  12. Business Sales Forecasting: Conducts business sales forecasting.
  13. Empanelment and Renewal: Ensures new empanelment and renewal of existing ones with PSU and other agencies.

Requirements:

  • B.Tech (Elect/Mech) or equivalent + 10 years of experience in bidding/tendering; overall 10-15 years of experience.
  • MBA preferred.

Strategic / Operational Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Bidding & Tendering activity.
  • Strategic and analytical ability. Good writing and calculation skills.
