Treasury Accountant Job Description

Are you an experienced treasury accounting professional seeking a challenging opportunity to utilize your expertise in Murex configuration, validation, and testing? We are looking for a skilled Treasury Accountant to support our Summit to Murex transition and provide expertise in treasury accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure and validate Murex accounting modules for accurate general ledger entries, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Perform thorough configuration, validation, and testing of Murex modules related to accounting, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • Maintain accurate setup and maintenance of accounting data for bonds, derivatives, and other treasury products, guaranteeing precise financial reporting.
  • Collaborate in designing and executing test cases for end-to-end processes for accounting use cases, providing detailed analysis and recommendations.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing for accounting workflows, including trade lifecycle events, accruals, amortizations, and settlement, ensuring 100% accuracy.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise in accounting processes, including automation for general ledger reconciliation, analytics, and reporting of derivatives and fixed-income products, driving business growth through data-driven insights.
  • Document processes, configurations, and test results to support project deliverables, promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working with Murex in back-office operations, treasury accounting, or related functions, demonstrating deep understanding of the system's capabilities.
  • Professional Accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent), showcasing commitment to excellence in accounting practices.
  • Hands-on expertise in Murex modules for settlement, collateral management, static data, reference data, and accounting, applying technical knowledge to drive results.
  • Proven expertise in validations, testing, and troubleshooting with Murex environments, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Knowledge of treasury accounting principles, including GL reconciliation and financial reporting, providing context and insight for strategic decision-making.
  • Prior experience with Summit or similar trading platforms is a plus, offering flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, ensuring meticulous execution and delivery.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines with ease.
