Cloud Data Engineer for AWS Redshift.

Location - Remote (Within India)

We are looking for a highly skilled cloud data engineer to support our clients in architecting, optimizing, and scaling AWS Redshift environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures on AWS Redshift.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading architecture review and validation for multiple AWS Redshift clusters
  • Validating sizing assumptions and providing right-sizing recommendations
  • Defining and implementing operational excellence best practices (runbooks, monitoring, alerting)
  • Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and health metrics for Redshift platforms
  • Analyzing and optimizing query performance (workload patterns, schema design, tuning)
  • Establishing schema governance and defining change management/version control processes
  • Defining a clear, auditable process for deploying new tables, columns, and views

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or database administration with deep hands-on expertise in AWS Redshift
  • Proven experience in cluster architecture review, sizing, and right-sizing recommendations
  • Strong background in query performance tuning, schema optimization, and workload management
  • Expert-level knowledge of Redshift fundamentals: table design (Distribution and Sort Keys), WLM tuning, vacuum operations, concurrency scaling
  • Ability to develop and implement operational best practices (runbooks, monitoring, alerting)
  • Demonstrated expertise in schema governance, version control, and structured change management
  • Excellent communication and consultative skills—able to clearly articulate solutions to technical and business stakeholders
  • Experience working in client-facing roles within professional services, consulting, or enterprise environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take ownership of strategic outcomes—not just tactical tasks
