Job Summary

A technical expert responsible for planning and designing innovative software solutions. The successful candidate will analyze, test, and integrate new applications, oversee documentation of development activity, and train non-technical personnel.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Analyze product and technical requirements in collaboration with project stakeholders to determine integration needs.
  • Design new software and web applications, support existing applications, and customize current ones. Develop software update processes for existing applications and assist in the roll-out of software releases.
  • Train junior software developers on internally developed software applications.
  • Oversee the researching, writing, and editing of documentation and technical requirements, including evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological developments within the industry, monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products, and review relevant literature, patents, and practices.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the design process and offer guidance on best practices, procedures, and techniques. Serve as a guide and mentor for junior-level software developers.
  • Assist in tracking and evaluating performance metrics to ensure the team delivers software on time, to specification, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications meet specifications and technical requirements.
  • Exhibit expertise in knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, and skills, and their application in the specified area of specialty.
  • Present and defend architectural, design, and technical choices to internal audiences.
  • Consistently exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in software development.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, technologies, and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based platforms and infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools.
