Senior Backend Engineer Opportunity

Looking for a challenging role that allows you to make a real impact? This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Backend Engineer and contribute to the development of a live, regulated financial platform. As part of a lean team, you'll work closely with our frontend engineers to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality software.

The Role:

This is a full-time contract position focused on core features, transactions, and secure APIs all powering a product built for real customers and regulatory scrutiny. Your expertise in building and extending backend services using TypeScript/Node.js will be invaluable in shaping the platform's architecture and ensuring it meets the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing backend services using TypeScript/Node.js
  • Writing transactional business logic for financial flows (e.g. onboarding, withdrawals)
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate with third-party APIs securely
  • Improving existing systems for performance, reliability, and audit requirements

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in financial services
  • Strong TypeScript/Node.js skills, productive from day one
  • Hands-on with AWS Lambda and serverless patterns
  • PostgreSQL experience, schema design, performance tuning, real-world queries
