Job Overview

The role of an IT Server Specialist involves designing, implementing, maintaining and optimizing server infrastructure to support business operations. This includes ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing physical and virtual servers.
  • Monitoring server performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Performing regular backups and disaster recovery testing.
  • Applying patches, updates, and security configurations to protect against vulnerabilities.
  • Managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other server roles.

Security and Compliance:

Implementing and enforcing security policies, procedures, and best practices for servers and networks.

Conducting regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.

Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows, Linux).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in server administration and hands-on experience with enterprise-grade infrastructure.
