Lead Platform Engineer

 

Job Summary

The Lead Platform Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of scalable infrastructure solutions.

 

This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficiency and reliability in platform operations. It demands strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and effective communication abilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Automate and improve deployment processes and infrastructure management.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and address potential bottlenecks proactively.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to establish CI/CD pipelines and software delivery best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers and teams.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
  • Integrate security best practices into development and deployment processes.
  • Conduct regular reviews with stakeholders to align on technology roadmap and progress.

 

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of platform architecture and design principles.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
  • Understanding of networking concepts and services, including load balancing, DNS, and VPNs.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Dynatrace).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies.
