Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Datascience Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and administering technology systems, with a focus on Big Data.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing existing database systems, recommending improvements, and working with IT Managers to establish database security structures. They will also manage and maintain Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) clusters, ensuring high availability and performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing existing database systems and recommending improvements
  • Working with IT Manager to establish database security structures
  • Managing and maintaining Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) clusters
  • Administering and monitoring Apache Kafka clusters
  • Performing database administration for Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL systems
  • Developing and maintaining automation scripts using Shell scripting and Ansible
  • Collaborating with data engineers and developers to optimize data pipelines
  • Implementing and maintaining security best practices across all data platforms
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues across the data stack

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field
  • A minimum of 6 years relevant experience
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience with Relational or NoSQL database technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to implement new technologies effectively
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization
  • Experience with Big Data Technologies supporting a broad variety of solutions
