Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development

  • Develop and implement international benchmarked curriculum standards for students.
  • Making connections between the learning area and the current global scenario.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of content and pedagogy in developing effective lesson plans.
  • Specifying how teaching objectives will be transacted in class.

Instructional Delivery

  • Designing coherent instructions to engage students in independent thinking.
  • Utilizing various teaching techniques and tools to address different learners.
  • Creating educational supports, including reading material, activities, and visual/audio accompaniments for interactive learning.
  • Collaborating with staff to provide students with academic, non-academic, and social support.
  • Conducting remedial sessions as required.
  • Ensuring students acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills, and understanding appropriate to the unit taught.

Assessment and Evaluation

  • Transacting student assessments as designed and approved by the curriculum team.
  • Recording and reporting on student development, progress, and behavior.
  • Assigning work, correcting, and marking work carried out by students.
  • Encouraging and monitoring individual student progress to adjust teaching strategies.

Culture and Community

  • Creating a welcoming and positive classroom culture.
  • Integrating our school's theme into all aspects of teaching and learning.
  • Managing student behavior in the classroom by establishing rules and procedures.
  • Maintaining discipline in accordance with school rules.
  • Contributing to the school community to support its vision and ethos.

Professional Growth

  • Attending professional development sessions and taking responsibility for own professional growth.
  • Communicating, cooperating, and consulting with colleagues and parents/guardians.
  • Organizing events and activities ensuring their safety.
  • Driving outstanding student achievement for all students and supporting colleagues in driving student achievement.

Key Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters in the relevant subject area.
  • Experience: Experience in teaching international curricula (such as IGCSE or IB) is beneficial.
  • Skills: Understanding of the IGCSE framework, assessment methods, and syllabi is essential.
  • Attributes: Strategic thinker, skilled collaborator, and committed to fostering excellence. Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
