Overview

This position plays a critical role in the development and maintenance of PowerSchool's award-winning K-12 software. As a key member of our Agile SCRUM team, you will be responsible for implementing, coding, and testing new features, while ensuring the highest quality product and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications and services using PL/SQL programming language.
  • Analyze performance and develop improvements to the web application's performance.
  • Investigate and resolve issues reported for a large web application, following best practices such as authoring or updating unit tests, writing maintainable code, and applying established patterns and algorithms.
  • Assist with security updates to the web application.
  • Perform upgrades to 3rd party libraries and tools used by the web application.
  • Implement new web application software features and products, following best practices such as authoring of unit tests, writing maintainable code, and applying established patterns and algorithms.
  • Specialize in client or server-side web application development as a member of a project team.
  • Familiarity with the full technical stack.
  • Develop software to support internal initiatives, tools, update framework, and application functionality.
  • Work within a wide range of new and legacy code and technologies in a mature codebase.
  • Train and mentor new and more junior software engineers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 4 Year degree in Engineering like BE or B-Tech or 3 years Master in computer application (MCA).
  • 3+ years of experience in Software industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Experience working with Database like Oracle preferably or other RDBMS.
  • Good experience in client-side JavaScript or Typescript and related framework and libraries such as Angular and Jquery.
  • Experience using tools as SQL Developer, Perforce, Jira, and Git.
  • Problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Understanding of the Software Development LifeCycle (SDLC).
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum Teams.
  • Ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desire to learn, grow, and improve.
  • A passion and natural curiosity for technology.
  • Good to have experience in Object-oriented programming in Java or Typescript.
  • Good to have knowledge of Spring MVC, Hibernate, Webservices.
