The client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join their team and contribute to the development of their live, regulated financial platform. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the backend of this innovative product, working closely with a lean team to design and implement cutting-edge solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-performance, scalable backend services using TypeScript/Node.js.
  • Write transactional business logic for financial flows, including onboarding, withdrawals, and KYC processes.
  • Maintain and improve existing systems, ensuring reliability, auditability, and security.
  • Collaborate with the team via GitHub and CI/CD workflows to deliver high-quality software.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, preferably in financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of TypeScript/Node.js and PostgreSQL, with hands-on experience in AWS Lambda and serverless patterns.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with the team.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform/IaC and polyglot environments (Kotlin may be introduced down the line).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with regulated systems, including audit logs and compliance.
  • Knowledge of AWS Cognito and broader infrastructure exposure.
  • Understanding of building secure, documented REST APIs.
