Vessel Performance Operations Specialist

Expertise in optimizing hull performance is essential to ensuring efficient fleet operations. This role involves managing hull condition and biofouling while driving wider fleet performance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage hull performance by monitoring condition across the fleet and recommending inspections, grooming, and antifouling runs.
  • Track long-stay vessels and plan timely hull actions to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Arrange and oversee hull cleaning, inspections, and grooming operations to meet performance standards.
  • Verify invoices against work scope and monitor vendor service quality.
  • Provide operational advice on hull cleaning availability, costs, and drydock/inspection history.
  • Support legal cases by providing evidence for hull fouling disputes.
  • Collaborate with fleet performance colleagues on broader vessel efficiency initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Marine Engineering or a related field of study.
  • Prior sailing experience as 2nd Officer or 3rd Engineer with minimum 12 months sailing experience; or
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the shipping industry, ideally with exposure to hull management, vessel performance, or technical operations.
  • At least 3 to 5 years shore-based experience in fleet performance/technical operations with strong understanding of vessel operations, hull performance, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills to liaise with internal teams, vendors, and service providers.
