About the Role

Are you a seasoned AI expert with a passion for developing intelligent systems? We are seeking a talented individual to lead the development of our core technology, transforming the way researchers approach academic discovery.

As an integral member of our team, you will design and implement scalable algorithms, leveraging your expertise in information retrieval, semantic search, and generative AI. Your work will impact thousands of researchers worldwide, enabling them to access cutting-edge science more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy vector databases, embedding-based retrieval systems, and agentic architectures.
  • Develop and optimize semantic search pipelines, ensuring seamless integration with our existing infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect and productionize full-stack search engines that can handle real-world academic workloads.
  • Contribute to the development of GenAI integrations, including prompt engineering, LLM orchestration, and react/graph agents.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify requirements and design solutions that meet their needs.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in semantic search, vector databases, LLM frameworks, agent-based systems, and document retrieval.
  • Proficiency in Python for backend development, with experience building scalable APIs and services.
  • Proven track record of deploying systems at scale, including search engines, retrieval pipelines, or embedding models.
  • Ability to design infrastructure that serves hundreds of concurrent requests.
  • Experience setting up and hosting APIs with public access, balancing speed, cost, and reliability.
  • Research-driven and pragmatic mindset, with a focus on measurable outcomes.
