Backend Software Engineer

We are seeking a skilled software engineer to design and build RESTful web service APIs in Java.

The ideal candidate will have strong foundational skills in Java and Object-Oriented Programming, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of an agile team to deliver solutions to business needs.

The role involves designing clean, documented, testable code using TDD, JUnit, Postman, and Swagger, as well as building performant services and diagnosing and resolving performance issues at all layers of the system.

The successful candidate will also have deep knowledge and familiarity with web frameworks, such as Spring MVC or Spring Boot, and strong experience designing database tables and writing SQL queries in an RDBMS, such as Oracle.

Additional responsibilities include building SSO and web service integrations with partners using technologies such as SAML and SOAP, understanding API security, and working with an API Gateway for API authorization.

A key aspect of this role is providing technical assistance and guidance with designing complex features, conducting design and code reviews, and helping the team meet their sprint deliverables by addressing any impediments in their way.
