Job Overview:
As a key member of the finance leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development of the internal audit plan and conducting comprehensive risk assessments. This will involve collaborating closely with stakeholders to identify strategic priorities for strengthening governance and process improvement.
Your responsibilities will include leading the entire internal audit process from initiation to closure, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders across functions. You will annually review policies and procedures to identify areas for improvement and drive sustainable changes through stakeholder alignment.
Additionally, you will oversee statutory audits, management testing for SOX and IFC compliance, and suggest revisions to address deficiencies. You will maintain strong relationships with external auditors and consultants, conducting frequent calls and promptly addressing audit queries and facilitating timely closure.
You will also ensure tax filings are completed within defined timelines, remain abreast of regulatory changes in audits and direct taxes, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement necessary adjustments.
Furthermore, you will provide timely support for book closing activities, compile balance sheet schedules, and ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Internal Audits and Internal Controls
- Annual review of existing policies and procedures to identify potential improvement areas, gaps, work with functions to address the same in a sustainable manner by aligning stakeholders on changes formally revising the SOPs, Policies, and ensure successful roll out
- Collate the SOA change inputs received from various functions, review them in line with historical data, and suggest the changes to the Financial Controller for finalization of the SOA
- Lead the team performing the management testing to comply with SOX and IFC, collaborating with various functions to address deficiencies arising from testing procedures and suggesting required changes in the SOPs, RCMs
- Statutory Audit including Group audit
- Maintaining strong, hands-on relationships with external auditors
- Ensuring seamless collaboration and operational transparency
- Holding frequent calls with the auditors to close out on the audits on timely manner
- Helping team to address audit queries on timely manner
- Tax filings are completed within the defined timeframe
- Review of TDS compliance mechanism to ensure that there are no GAPs
- Regulatory changes updates
- Closing and Balance Sheet Review
- Ensuring timely support in completion assigned book closing activities as per applicable accounting standard
- Compilation of Balance sheets schedules, deep diving in the long outstanding, unusual balances, understand reasons, corrections actions planned and track action implementation
Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant
- Proficiency in assessing and managing risks within the organization
- Understanding of the organization's business processes, strategies, enabling the identification of areas for improvement
- Strong analytical abilities to evaluate complex information, identify patterns, detect anomalies, and draw meaningful conclusions
- Strong financial knowledge and financial analysis techniques to evaluate financial controls and assess the financial health of the organization
