Job Title: Senior Merchandiser

 

Job Description

The Production Merchandiser plays a vital role in bridging the gap between design, production, and sales by ensuring timely delivery of high-quality activewear products. This detail-oriented professional works closely with the design team to organize sample development, approvals, fabric, and trim procurement for production orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Sourcing & Sample Coordination: Collaborate with the design team to develop samples, procure fabrics and trims, and manage approvals.
  • In-House Manufacturing Oversight: Monitor sample production, resolve technical or production issues, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Product Costing and Efficiency Management: Work on product costing, optimal selling price, and cost control efforts.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks, highlight defects, and implement corrective measures.
  • Production Reporting: Maintain accurate production tracking documents and provide timely updates.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Align with design, sales, sourcing, and logistics teams on delivery timelines, material availability, and order fulfillment.
  • Production Planning & Follow-up: Manage and track production schedules from development through bulk manufacturing.
  • Technical Documentation: Ensure tech packs, BOMs, and production specifications are complete and accurate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Production, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in apparel production merchandising, preferably in activewear or sportswear segments.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, materials, and production processes.
  • Hands-on experience working in in-house manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel) and production tracking systems.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate across design, production, and sales teams.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
