Job Title: Health and Safety Assistant

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Health and Safety Assistant to join our team at Cummins Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update local health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure effective implementation of health and safety protocols, guidelines, and standards across the organization.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of health and safety incidents, near misses, and compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver training programs on health and safety best practices.
  • Conduct regular health and safety audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to address health and safety risks and non-conformances.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees on health and safety matters, including answering questions and resolving concerns.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices, and implement changes as required.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and drills to ensure preparedness for potential health and safety incidents.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies and industry associations, to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., safety, environmental science, public health) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
