Job Title: Project Cost Estimator

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating accurate capital cost estimates to inform business decisions.

  • Advise on building economics, tendering procedures, and contract arrangements to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft contract packages, including amendments to standard forms, to protect the company's interests.
  • Prepare pricing documents for tender packages, ensuring transparency and fairness.
  • Provide expert advice on tendering procedures to stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement tender evaluation criteria to ensure quality submissions.
  • Negotiate with tenderers to secure the best value for the company.
  • Ascertain amounts due to contractors for price variation and determine claims accordingly.
  • Compile and analyze monthly Cost Reports to inform business strategy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience (5-10 years).
  • Strong understanding of QS & cost management processes, including quantification from drawings.
  • Chartered QS certification from a recognized organization (RICS, SCSI, AIQS, NZIQS, etc.).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and strong IT literacy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work rapidly and accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to coordinate with global teams across multiple locations.
  • An organized self-starter with attention to detail, able to work independently.
