Database Administrator Role

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to oversee the management and optimization of large-scale databases.

The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in database administration, performance enhancement, and query tuning for complex systems. Their responsibilities will include administering, maintaining, and optimizing large databases, performing query optimization, database tuning, and indexing strategies for high-performance applications, implementing and monitoring database backup, recovery, and failover strategies, managing database security, roles, and access privileges, working with development teams to troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures, utilizing timesqldb, toolkit, and monitoring utilities for proactive performance management, ensuring database scalability, reliability, and availability in production environments, and supporting upgrades, patching, and migration activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize large databases.
  • Perform query optimization, database tuning, and indexing strategies for high-performance applications.
  • Implement and monitor database backup, recovery, and failover strategies.
  • Manage database security, roles, and access privileges.
  • Work with development teams to troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Utilize timesqldb, toolkit, and monitoring utilities for proactive performance management.
  • Ensure database scalability, reliability, and availability in production environments.
  • Support upgrades, patching, and migration activities.

Mandatory Skills:

  • PostgreSQL DBA expertise (8+ years).
  • Strong experience in performance optimization & query tuning.
  • Hands-on with Linux / openSUSE environment.
  • Proven work with timesqldb and related toolkit utilities.
  • Ability to handle large databases.

Good to Have:

  • Knowledge of replication, partitioning, and clustering.
  • Experience in automation and scripting.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools.
