Director of Technical Accounting

Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Technical Accounting to join our team. This role is responsible for providing technical accounting advice to clients on complex accounting issues, conducting research on accounting topics, and preparing technical memos.

The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of accounting concepts, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with multiple engagements and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain client relationships with senior stakeholders;
  • Work with other Partners & Directors to provide support on practice management initiatives;
  • Actively participate in business development activities and contribute to proposal development;
  • Manage client relationships and project management;
  • Provide technical accounting advice to clients on complex accounting issues, conduct research on accounting topics, and prepare technical memos;
  • Assist clients with the implementation of new accounting standards and financial reporting, including the preparation of financial statements;
  • Review and analyse client financial information and provide recommendations for improvement;
  • Supervise and mentor team members and stay up to date on developments in accounting standards and regulations;
Requirements:
  • Strong domain, project management, business development, and people skills;
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of accounting concepts, stay informed of professional standards, and effectively apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situations;
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice as necessary;
  • Possess strong domain knowledge and strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work under pressure – stringent deadlines and tough client conditions which may demand extended working hours;
  • Demonstrate integrity, values, principles, work ethic, and lead by example;
  • Qualified CAs, experience of working in technical accounting/financial reporting, and 10+ years of relevant experience.
