Accounting Specialist

This role involves providing accounting services to US-based clients, including bookkeeping, tax preparation, and financial compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US GAAP and IRS regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate books of accounts, ledgers, journals, and financial statements for clients.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial data regularly.
  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing reports.
US Tax Compliance & Reporting:
  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns in accordance with IRS guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with US tax regulations, filing deadlines, and reporting requirements.
Regulatory Compliance & Advisory:
  • Assist clients with compliance requirements related to IRS, state agencies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support in financial audits, tax audits, and related assessments.
Cross-Border Taxation and Advisory:
  • Advise on cross-border tax implications for US entities working globally.
  • Provide insights on withholding taxes, foreign investments, and treaty benefits, where applicable.
Client Management & Communication:
  • Collaborate with clients and provide regular updates on financial performance and tax obligations.
  • Build long-term client relationships by ensuring timely and accurate service delivery.
Requirements:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or EA qualification preferred but not mandatory.
  • Professional Experience: 0-3 years of experience in US bookkeeping, tax preparation, or financial compliance.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, IRS regulations, and state-specific tax laws.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in accounting and tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, TurboTax, Lacerte).
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and US reporting standards.
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with high accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and internal teams.
