Job Overview

As a storage and backup specialist, you will play a vital role in managing the installation, implementation, and configuration of storage and backup technologies.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in storage and backup technologies with proven hands-on experience in installation, configuration, monitoring, and management of enterprise-grade storage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage storage and backup technologies to ensure seamless data retrieval and protection.
  • Perform day-to-day monitoring, reporting, and management of large storage devices and tape libraries.
  • Handle administration and troubleshooting in SAN and NAS storage environments.
  • Develop and execute backup and restore activity plans to minimize downtime.
  • Utilize monitoring and alert mechanism tools to stay ahead of potential issues.
  • Collaborate with OEMs and vendors for issue resolution and optimize storage performance.
  • Work on multi-platform environments including Windows, Linux, HP-UX, AIX, Oracle-Linux, Solaris, etc.
  • Apply scripting knowledge for automation and optimization tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Provide support for storage platforms across HPE, Dell EMC, IBM, NetApp, Hitachi, and Sun technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum [X] years of relevant experience in Storage and Backup technologies.
  • Strong understanding of storage and backup concepts, including data protection and recovery.
  • Hands-on experience in SAN/NAS environments and enterprise storage management.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Shell, VB, etc.) for system administration and automation.
  • Basic understanding of multiple operating systems and their nuances.
  • Good communication and coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
