Electrical Power Systems Manager

Dhruva Space seeks a skilled Electrical Power Systems Manager to lead the design, analysis, and testing of satellite electrical power systems for space missions.

The ideal candidate will develop satellite power subsystems ensuring reliability, efficiency, and durability standards for long-duration missions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Designing, analyzing, and optimizing satellite power systems including solar array sizing, energy storage, power conversion, and distribution.
  • Performing detailed power budget analyses to ensure satellite power subsystem meets mission demands under various scenarios.
  • Overseeing development, selection, and testing of power components such as solar cells, battery systems, power distribution units, and voltage regulators for space environments.
  • Leading system-level modeling, simulation, and optimization of satellite's electrical power system using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, or PSpice.
  • Integrating power systems with other spacecraft subsystems to ensure overall system compatibility and performance.
  • Supervising environmental and functional testing to validate power subsystem performance under space conditions.
  • Providing technical leadership in satellite power system fault management, redundancy planning, and failure analysis.
  • Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to meet project timelines and mission requirements.
  • Supporting spacecraft mission operations and providing expertise in anomaly resolution and power system performance optimization.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and staying abreast of advances in space power system technologies.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6-7 years of experience in satellite power system design, development, or related electrical engineering roles, with a focus on space applications.
  • Strong expertise in satellite power generation, energy storage, power conversion, and distribution.
  • Proficiency with power system simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or equivalent.
  • In-depth understanding of power system challenges in the space environment including radiation effects, thermal management, and system reliability.
  • Hands-on experience in environmental testing of satellite power systems.
  • Familiarity with space industry standards and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage projects ensuring timely delivery of technical milestones and system performance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and across project phases.
