ExxonMobil's Reservoir Modeling Responsibilities- We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and resourceful geoscientist to work for ExxonMobil's Reservoir Modeling team in Bengaluru, India location on challenging reservoir characterization & modeling projects in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, and reservoir engineers.
- The geoscientist will conduct applied reservoir modeling work to support field development planning, mature field opportunity generation, carbon capture & storage, regulatory requirements, and strategic projects.
- In consultation with ExxonMobil's Reservoir Modeling group in Houston, define project objectives, work scopes, and deliverables.
- Contribute to existing model updates, developing/maintaining workflows, volumetric, and calibration to dynamic data.
- Support business units that require models to screen opportunities, run scenarios, and quantify uncertainty.
- Support business units to manage country-specific regulatory requirements that have a significant modeling component.
- Work with computational scientists, engineers, and geoscientists to test, deliver, and support various modeling software tools, models, and algorithms.
Skills and Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Earth Science, Physical Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering with a minimum GPA score of 6.0 & above.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on industrial experience in integrated reservoir modeling in support of Upstream oil and gas operations.
- A strong background in one or more geoscience skills (production/development geology, geophysics, stratigraphy).
- Proficiency with English and strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
- A strong computational and analytical skills.
- Expert level Petrel user, experience with Petrel workflows, and plugins.
- Knowledge of reservoir simulation/Eclipse or other modeling software would be an added advantage.
