Procurement Manager Job Summary:

The Senior Director, Procurement Strategy will oversee and develop a comprehensive procurement plan for solar industry projects. This executive-level role demands exceptional leadership skills, expertise in strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier negotiations.

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in procurement operations and supply chain management to drive business growth and profitability within the solar EPC segment.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of solar project procurement processes, including PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, and Balance of Systems (BoS). The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless execution of supply chain operations aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Procurement Planning:
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize spend and improve quality.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address supply chain risks.
    • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Sourcing and Contract Management:
    • Lead the end-to-end sourcing process, from requirements definition to contract award.
    • Manage vendor relationships at a senior level, ensuring timely delivery and quality performance.
    • Conduct regular market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Cost Optimization and Commercial Evaluation:
    • Analyze supplier quotations and negotiate prices to achieve optimal value.
    • Develop and implement cost-control strategies to reduce procurement expenses.
    • Monitor market conditions and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Process Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure full compliance with internal procurement policies, regulatory guidelines, and project specifications.
    • Maintain transparent documentation and reporting mechanisms for audits and internal controls.
  • Leadership and Team Development:
    • Lead and mentor the procurement team to build capability and performance.
    • Establish KPIs, monitor progress, and drive process improvements across the department.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the solar industry.
  • Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and improving procurement efficiency.
  • Expertise in strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier negotiations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to navigate complex procurement issues.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with ability to motivate and direct cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in ERP tools (SAP/Oracle) and MS Office suite.
  • Knowledge of solar project procurement processes, including PV modules, inverters, and BoS components.
