Job Title:Construction Accounting Leader

The Construction Accounting Leader will oversee and manage the financial accounting functions within a company, requiring a deep understanding of construction accounting principles, financial management, and compliance. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining fiscal discipline, and supporting the overall success of construction projects.

Responsibilities include all aspects of accounting operations and cash management, including production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and comprehensive set of controls and budgets. The goal is to ensure reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Duties:

  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions through accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  1. Complete the monthly close with all general ledger accounts reconciled and analyzed, as appropriate, with variance analysis.
  2. Coordinate and facilitate the construction draw process, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds for construction activities.
  3. Manage the yearly audit and tax compliance process, including ensuring all information is complete, accurate, and available for the tax preparers and auditors.

Requirements include:

  • CA/CPA certification with 7-8 years of experience in the real estate/construction industry.
  • Highly organized individual with strong attention to detail and quality of deliverables.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
