Job Description

Effective fraud detection and timely dispute resolution are key drivers of our operational success.

We seek seasoned professionals to manage customer disputes and fraud cases, focusing on Mastercard chargeback processes.

Fraud analysts will review, investigate, and resolve cases in accordance with Mastercard rules and internal policies.

The ideal candidate will analyze transaction data and supporting documentation to determine case validity and liability.

They will prepare and submit dispute case files, representments, and supporting evidence to Mastercard within required timeframes.

Effective communication with internal teams, issuing banks, acquirers, and merchants is essential for timely dispute resolution.

Fraud analysts must identify patterns and emerging trends, escalating insights to prevention teams.

Accurate records and reporting of dispute activities ensure compliance and audit requirements are met.

Continuous process improvement and adherence to regulatory and card-network compliance requirements are expected.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Review and investigate fraud and dispute cases in accordance with Mastercard chargeback rules and internal policies
  • Analyze transaction data and supporting documentation to determine case validity and liability
  • Prepare and submit dispute case files, representments, and supporting evidence to Mastercard
  • Communicate with internal teams, issuing banks, acquirers, and merchants to ensure timely dispute resolution
  • Identify patterns and emerging trends, escalating insights to fraud prevention teams
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting of dispute activities for compliance and audit purposes
Qualifications & Skills

Applicants should possess 2-5 years of experience in fraud, disputes, or chargebacks (Mastercard experience required; Visa knowledge a plus).

In-depth knowledge of Mastercard chargeback rules and the dispute life cycle is essential.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are necessary.

Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously with strong attention to detail is required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Familiarity with fraud detection tools, case management systems, and regulatory requirements (Reg E, Reg Z preferred) is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in financial institutions, fintechs, or payment processors is desirable.

Knowledge of both issuer and acquirer dispute processes is beneficial.

Professional certifications in fraud or payments (e.g., CFE, CAFP) are an asset.
