Job Title: Linux Cloud Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Linux Cloud Engineer to support our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience managing cloud resources, supporting Linux environments, and troubleshooting complex issues. If you have strong expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and are passionate about Linux administration, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cloud Infrastructure Management:
  2. Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux-based cloud servers and virtual machines on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  3. Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance, availability, and security.
  4. Provide Level 2 support for Veritas, handling build, operations, and patching activities.
  5. System Administration:
  6. Perform day-to-day Linux server administration, including user management, system updates, and software installations.
  7. Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
  8. Troubleshooting & Support:
  9. Provide Level 2 support for escalated issues related to Linux servers and cloud services.
  10. Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including performance bottlenecks and connectivity problems.
  11. Security & Compliance:
  12. Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux servers and cloud environments.
  13. Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry regulations.
  14. Performance Optimization:
  15. Optimize system performance and resource utilization for Linux servers and cloud resources.
  16. Perform capacity planning and scaling to meet growing business needs.
  17. Backup & Recovery:
  18. Manage and verify backup and recovery processes for Linux servers.
  19. Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
  20. Documentation & Reporting:
  21. Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  22. Generate and review performance reports and logs.
  23. Collaboration & Training:
  24. Work closely with other IT teams, such as network and application teams, to ensure seamless integration of services.
  25. Provide training and support to junior engineers and other team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  1. 3-5 years of experience in Linux system administration and cloud computing.
  2. Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  3. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
  4. Strong understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
  5. Experience with cloud infrastructure services (e.g., EC2, S3, Azure VMs, Google Compute Engine).
  6. Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
  7. Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  8. Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Nagios, Splunk, Grafana).
  9. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  11. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Administrator Associate are preferred.
