We are seeking a seasoned Senior Observability Engineer to join our team at 860 GapTech India. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing our NextGen Observability platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain observability solutions for our distributed systems, leveraging tools like NewRelic, Grafana, Prometheus, and GCP Logging.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop observability solutions that meet the needs of our product groups.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the reliability and availability of our tools through monitoring best practices.
- Implement automation using Chef and GitHub to streamline deployment processes.
- Design and implement logging, metrics, and traces using Open Telemetry (OTEL), ensuring seamless data collection and analysis.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for the observability platform, providing expertise and support during critical events.
- Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to drive team success.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in observability, with a strong focus on distributed systems.
- Hands-on admin skills in Linux, Chef, and GitHub, with a solid understanding of containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Prometheus, OTEL, and Grafana, including implementation of OTEL instrumentation, configuration of OTEL collectors, and node exporters for telemetry data scraping.
- Strong understanding of application and infrastructure monitoring, with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in fast-paced environments and across multiple teams.
- Familiarity with public cloud solutions, preferably Azure and GCP, with a good understanding of security and compliance requirements.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary of ₹1,200,000 - ₹1,800,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
