Scientific Graphic Designer

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and versatile Scientific Graphic Designer to join our team. As a Scientific Graphic Designer, you will have the chance to combine scientific expertise with creative design skills to produce engaging and accurate materials.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create visually appealing graphical abstracts that capture the essence of scientific studies.
  • Analyze scientific manuscripts to extract key visual elements and concepts.
  • Develop storyboards that outline the visual narrative, ensuring alignment with scientific content and client objectives.
  • Design rough sketches illustrating initial visual concepts, working closely with researchers, writers, and clients to refine and finalize the visual representation.
  • Evaluate peers' and freelancers' outputs to ensure they meet client expectations and are delivery-ready.

Requirements:

  • A graduate or PhD degree in a STEM field, preferably Biology, Biotechnology, Medicine, Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in scientific graphic designing, communicating science and complex research into engaging output.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop).
  • Proficiency in creating 3D designs in Blender is an added advantage.
  • Experience in scientific graphic designing, medical illustrations, journal cover designs, and graphical abstracts.
  • A solid understanding of the scientific publishing & science communication landscape.
