About this Opportunity:

As a seasoned Portfolio Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of commercial properties owned by various Funds and Joint Ventures. You will work closely with 3rd party property teams who manage day-to-day accounting operations using an accounting platform.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing overall property level accounting including financial reports, annual budgets, and quarterly budget re-projections
  • Reviewing and approving operating and tax escalations, annual estimates, and reconciliations
  • Providing support to 3rd party users, managing loan compliance, and preparing unaudited financial reports as required
  • Preparing audited financial statements with footnotes (fair value and tax basis) and working with construction professionals to provide accounting for development projects
  • Preparation of ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed, joint venture accounting, and review of operating agreements

Skill & Experience:

  • 5-8 years of property accounting experience in commercial real estate with expertise in fair value GAAP, tax accounting, and IFRS
  • Experience with Funds and/or Joint Ventures, taxable REIT subsidiaries, and tenant recoveries
  • Understanding of waterfall calculations, year-end audit, and loan compliance
  • Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and multitask in a fast-paced environment
