HVAC Technician Job Overview

The primary responsibility of this role is to install, maintain, and repair heating ventilation, and air conditioning systems ensuring they operate efficiently and safely in accordance with industry standards.

This position involves working on a wide range of HVAC equipment including air conditioners, chillers, furnaces, air handlers, and ventilation units. A strong understanding of electrical components and refrigeration cycles is essential for the successful candidate.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to guarantee optimal performance of HVAC equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems and recommend effective solutions.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams blueprints manufacturer specifications.
  • Adjust system controls to improve performance and ensure energy efficiency.
  • Test and balance air hydronic systems to meet performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records documenting all work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards building codes environmental regulations.
  • Respond promptly to emergency service calls.
  • Collaborate with engineers supervisors and other technicians to resolve system issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an HVAC Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems electrical components refrigeration cycles.
  • Ability to use HVAC tools gauges diagnostic equipment.
  • Understanding of safety procedures occupational health regulations.
  • Good problem-solving troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication teamwork abilities.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment work in confined spaces withstand varying weather conditions.

Education and Certification:

  • Diploma/ITI/Technical certification in HVAC Mechanical related field.
