MongoDB Database Administrator

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled MongoDB professional to join our team as a Database Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about database management and wants to work with a cutting-edge technology like MongoDB.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement effective indexes for performance improvement.
  • Optimize MongoDB configurations and server settings for better performance.
  • Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery processes.
  • Improve query performance through efficient indexing and caching strategies.
  • Monitor database health using metrics such as slow queries, replication lags, node failures, index usage patterns, CPU usage, memory usage, locks, and number of connections.
  • Evaluate, plan, and execute database upgrades.
  • Ensure data security through best practices for backups, replication, and health checks.
  • Design and implement Disaster Recovery (DR) plans and High Availability (HA) solutions.
  • Collaborate with the application team to understand changes in builds/patches/hotfixes and fine-tune queries accordingly.
  • Automate the process of deploying database changes for new builds/patches/hotfixes.

Required Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience as a DBA with 2+ years on MongoDB.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise application technology architecture, components, databases, networking, and infrastructure as code.
  • Strong MongoDB skills with expertise in writing efficient queries.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Unix/Shell Scripting and Python.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows-based platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity experience.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or higher.
