Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Cloudflare WAF specialist to take on key responsibilities in ensuring the security and integrity of our websites.

  • Manage Threats: Configure and manage Cloudflare WAF rules, page shields, and threat intelligence filters to provide optimal protection against web threats.
  • Tune Policies: Optimize policies to minimize false positives and enhance protection against OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor Anomalies: Continuously monitor web traffic anomalies and bot activity, taking proactive measures to maintain website security.
  • Integrate Alerts: Integrate WAF alerts with central SIEM/SOC for real-time visibility and incident response.
  • Collaborate with App Teams: Collaborate with application teams to validate WAF configurations before production rollout, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Troubleshoot Blocks: Troubleshoot WAF blocks, performance issues, and content caching anomalies to minimize downtime and maximize user experience.
  • Maintain Security Controls: Maintain access control, rate limiting, and geo-restriction rules to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Generate Reports: Generate reports for application owners and participate in threat modeling exercises to identify potential security risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support Rule Upgrades: Assist L3 in rule set upgrades, custom signatures, and API security enhancements to stay ahead of emerging threats and best practices.
  • Ensure Business Continuity: Participate in DR drills and ensure WAF availability in failover scenarios to guarantee business continuity.
Key Skills & Certifications:
  • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on 5-7 years' experience with Cloudflare WAF or equivalent (e.g., Akamai, AWS WAF).
  • Web Protocol Knowledge: Understanding of web protocols, application headers, and TLS to effectively configure and manage WAF rules.
  • DevSecOps Expertise: Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and app security standards to ensure secure code deployment and maintenance.
