Job Opportunity:

Pentair is seeking an experienced Principal Firmware Engineer to lead the development of IoT firmware.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop firmware for IoT devices using C/C++ programming languages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software components.
  • Develop and maintain build toolchains and framework.
  • Implement software quality assurance and automated testing tools.
  • Work with external vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in IoT embedded systems.
  • Strong knowledge of microcontroller/microprocessor architecture and peripheral drivers.
  • Experience with RTOS, FreeRTOS, uC OS, EmbOSs, VxWorks, QNX.
  • Knowledge of embedded linux, device driver concepts, and inter-process communication.
  • Understanding of OSI layers, embedded TCP/IP stacks, and common IP protocols.
  • Experience with wireless communication protocols (WIFI, Zigbee, Bluetooth/BLE).
  • Knowledge of IoT communication protocols (MQTT, COAP, AMQP).
  • Strong coding skills in C/C++ and scripting languages (batch, shell, python, Nodejs).
  • Experience with version control and repositories using git tools.
  • M.Tech/B.Tech in Computer Science/Electronics Engineering from a good Engineering College.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with AWS/Google cloud for device connectivity.
  • Exposure to IoT cloud services (e.g. AWS IoT).
  • Protocol debugging using protocol analyzer.
  • Understanding of schematic/hardware design around microcontrollers.

About this role:

This position requires a strong technical background and leadership skills to drive firmware development forward. As Principal Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing firmware for IoT devices, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and implementing software quality assurance and automated testing tools.

Our ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in IoT embedded systems, strong knowledge of microcontroller/microprocessor architecture, and experience with RTOS, FreeRTOS, and other operating systems.
