About the Role
At myGwork, we're seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team. As a versatile database engineer, you'll play a key role in architecting, designing, and developing enterprise-grade database solutions for application developers using Agile and DevOps methodology.

We offer a competitive base salary of $140,000, plus bonus incentives, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability benefits. Our flexible working model allows for hybrid, onsite, or virtual arrangements depending on the role and business need.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background and practical experience with database development, data architecture, and automation. You'll be responsible for leading database development efforts, architecting database automation/DevOps efforts, and delivering efficient database solutions to meet customer needs. Responsibilities Include:
• Architect and lead database development efforts, collaborating closely with application developers and database and platform engineering and support teams.
• Develop tools that automate database processes, such as database provisioning, enabling database engineers and developers to do more self-service work.
• Deliver efficient database solutions to meet customer needs, high performance, and availability.
• Find opportunities to adopt innovative technologies and improve existing ones.
• Work closely with multiple development, infrastructure, framework, and production support teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality database solutions.

Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of database development experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience.
• Hands-on experience with design and development across one or more database management systems, such as Postgres, Oracle, Couchbase, Cassandra, Mongo, and other NoSQL databases.
• Practical experience handling operational tasks of NoSQL databases, including capacity expansion, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and other Open Source Technologies like Postgres and MySQL.
• Experience with automation using Ansible for infrastructure use cases like upgrade, patching, etc., is a plus.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data migration is essential.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with public cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure is highly desirable.
