About the Job

This is a contract-to-hire position where you will be working with the AS/400 system, utilizing your expertise in COBOL, RPG III, and other relevant technologies to deliver high-quality solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with IBM AS/400 systems, as well as knowledge of business processes and procedures related to operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT).

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Familiarizing yourself with the system architecture diagram of the AS400 application, including its interface mechanisms with upstream and downstream systems.
  • Documenting various AS400 environments, OS levels, and database versions.
  • Performing walkthroughs of complex, critical, or error-prone COBOL and RPG code modules.
  • Understanding how the AS400 application integrates with other systems.
  • Maintaining knowledge of current monitoring mechanisms, log directories, and housekeeping processes on AS400 servers.
